Wadi Dayqah Dam

Dam

Watching the periodic floods surge down the Wadi Dayqah in Muscat might be an awesome sight, but most of this water, which could be used for irrigation is wasted by flowing out into the sea. To harvest this precious resource, Wadi Dayqah Dam was constructed back in 2012. This is the largest irrigation dam project to date in this region. The dam is set to capture an estimated 60 million cubic metres of potable water that previously flowed down the deep desert canyons out to sea each year.
