A city

A vibrant and live city, Dubai !

I remember coming to this city on early 2000, right above the immigration counter there was a quote “It takes generations to build a city, we are doing it in less than one”

It is remarkable to see how they city was developed in few years to this level.

The credit for making this remarkable city, without any doubt goes to Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. In his own word he says., “Dubai will never settle for anything less than first place.” He further adds, “Most people talk; we do things. They plan; we achieve. They hesitate; we move ahead. We are living proof that when human beings have the courage and commitment to transform a dream into reality, there is nothing that can stop them.”

Hope

AGS_3561-Edit

Hope, the magical wold which makes us all go round and round till we read there. It is to see the fine ray of light even in darkness.

“You may say I’m a dreamer, but I’m not the only one. I hope someday you’ll join us. And the world will live as one.”

John Lennon

AGS_5114_HDR-Edit-2

Standing at 69 metres / 227 feet high and is made of granite, sandstone and bronze this monument is a striking example of German engineering. It was built in 1873 to commemorate successful military campaigns and was set up in front of the Reichstag. There are 285 steps through the column, which lead to an observation platform, providing splendid views across much of the city.

Marie Elisabeth Lüders Haus, The scientific service centre of the German Parliament is part of the “Federal Row”, an architectural symbol of German unity.
This new building, inaugurated in 2003, owes its name to the social politician and women’s rights campaigner Marie Elisabeth Lüders. Alongside the Parliamentary Library and specialist scientific service providers it also accommodates a Wall memorial open to the public. Parts of the Berlin Wall have been rebuilt here to commemorate the division of the city along the former route of the Wall.

Happy New Year 2017

2017-message

Hoping for  less violence, less bloodshed and more understanding among us.

What will you tell him

Here is a young  boy,  holding his father’s hand and looking at the memorial for the Berlin Terror Attach victims days before Christmas.

Christmas markets in Germany, like in any other country, is for festivity, happiness, share a laugh, share a story, talk about beautiful future. Residents and visitors irrespective of cast, religion, ethnicity, country they come form are welcome to join the festivity. It is about PEACE.

Why would someone drive a truck into this place and hurt people ? What were they trying to achieve ?

What would the father tell his son ?
